Day 2 (Feb 28) Ben

Furniture
This is the second day working at crossroads arriving at 11:00am. I went straight to furniture where we did some moving and breaking things down so we can throw them away.

I find it great that our co-ordinator Masa lets us have fun while we break things as long as we don't do anything too extreme and could possibly get hurt from.

Then we went on the build two beds starting with one that we started the last time we came but didn't have enough materials to build then a pink one which we had quite a lot of true with finding where the different bits go.

Afterwards we went for a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:45pm. Where we headed to Gold Coast Piaza and ate some lunch.

Electronics
At 2:00pm we went back and I went to work at the electronics section. This is where we get donated electronics and test them out to see whether they work which if they do we then log them in to the computer and pack them up.

Shed
Afterwards we got moved to the Shed. This is where everything gets packed up in the end to get shipped out internationally to those in need.

Our job here was to help cut up a large peice of carpet in to several smaller bits so it can be split up to separate packs and be packed up smaller.

For the last part of the day I just went back to furniture and help out with some breaking and packing.

Reflection

Today was definitely a tough day working for 5 hours, I got to experience different jobs today which made it a bit more interesting, I definitely see why I got put in furniture now as it is the job that best suits me. I also got a talk with Abel who runs the shed who told me about stories of the people in Africa who are the same age as me but aren't lucky enough to have chairs to sit on or a table to work on which really motivated me to work harder.
