Day 1 (Feb 14) Ben

Tour

To Start of the first day at crossroads, I arrived at 1:30pm where I then followed My friends to grab some lunch their cafeteria "Narnia"  before our tour began at 2:00pm.

At 2:00pm we started the tour where we watched an introduction video to crossroads

Then had a walk around crossroads learning about the facilities. Finally we had an interview to see which job we would suit in best.

Furniture
Afterwards I began working at the furniture section of crossroads where we would move, build and break down furniture. This section is where people donate their old furniture which still work and we organise them and occasionally get rid of because no one wants it or it's just a waste of space. 

These furnitures are then distributed to people in need of them. They are distributed locally for people to come and pick up or internationally where they are packed up then shipped.

To start off with, we had to move a few furniture that just came in like a sofa, drawers and desk.

Next we went off to build a fold-up bed and a table as well as moving lots of heavy things around.

Then me and Lok Ngai got sent off to the clothing section to help move some boxes of clothing for delivery and storage as well as cutting open used boxes to reuse.

Finally we went back and got to move some useless furniture out and break them apart so we can store it in a smaller area.

Reflection
Being that it's only the first day I don't know how tough it will get but so far it seems to be quite fun. Other than the fact that I got some minor bruises,cuts and splinters from lifting the furniture as well as clipping my fingers a few times while putting down heavy objects, everything else seems to be alright and not to difficult.

Next time i'm definitely going to bring some gloves if i'm going to be working at the furniture section again.
